Parquet and Wood Flooring over Underfloor Heating: What to Choose and How to Install It Properly

Not every wood floor suits underfloor heating. Which parquet or flooring to choose, what thickness, how it is installed and how to start the heating without damaging the floor.

Professional floating floor, parquet, vinyl and laminate flooring services in Burgos: installation, sanding and varnishing, repair, skirting boards and flooring for staircases and underfloor heating, with careful preparation, material acclimatisation and a written quote.

What makes a floor suitable

Low thermal resistance: the less the material insulates, the better it transmits heat. Engineered parquet and flooring are stable and warm, with a natural wood layer, and are usually the best choice in wood.

How it is installed

Check that the slab is dry and the underfloor system has no leaks before laying the floor, and follow the manufacturer indications for the adhesive or the underlay.

Gradual start-up

Switch the underfloor heating off a few days before installing. Then raise it little by little, a few degrees a day, up to the working temperature. Do not exceed the maximum surface temperature stated by the manufacturer.
