Parquet or Wood-Look Porcelain Tile: Which Really Pays Off in a Home

Wood-look porcelain tile and natural parquet look alike in photos. In daily use, maintenance and home value they behave very differently.

Professional floating floor, parquet, vinyl and laminate flooring services in Burgos: installation, sanding and varnishing, repair, skirting boards and flooring for staircases and underfloor heating, with careful preparation, material acclimatisation and a written quote.

Feel and comfort

Wood is a living material, warmer to the touch and with better thermal and acoustic insulation. Porcelain tile is cold, hard and noisy, and needs underfloor heating or rugs to feel pleasant in winter.

Moisture and wet areas

Porcelain tile is unaffected by water, which is why it is used in bathrooms, kitchens and terraces. Natural parquet should not stay wet; for those areas the wood-look alternative is waterproof vinyl or SPC flooring.

Repair and lifespan

A broken tile can be replaced, but matching the same batch years later is hard. Parquet is repaired strip by strip and sanded as a whole to even out the colour, so the floor recovers its original look.
