Sanding Parquet (Acuchillar): What It Is, When to Do It and What It Costs in Burgos

Sanding parquet means sanding it down to bare wood and varnishing it again. When it is worth it, what the process involves and what the price per square metre depends on.

Professional floating floor, parquet, vinyl and laminate flooring services in Burgos: installation, sanding and varnishing, repair, skirting boards and flooring for staircases and underfloor heating, with careful preparation, material acclimatisation and a written quote.

When it is worth sanding

When the varnish is worn, with dull patches or bare wood on the busiest paths. Solid parquet or engineered flooring with a thick wood layer can be sanded; laminate flooring or parquet with a very thin top layer cannot.

How the process works

We first check the thickness of the wood, the nails and the joints, then sand the surface, repair any damage and apply the varnish in coats.

What the price per m² depends on

As a guide, parquet in good condition usually runs between 14 and 20 euros per m² to sand and varnish. The price rises with many repairs, herringbone or mosaic patterns, or thick layers of wax or old varnish.
